I have been making these handmade quilted stars for a table topper. They turned out OK, and I laid them out like it said, then you just tack the edges of the stars together, but I'm just not happy with it. I haven't tacked them down yet. I wanted some advice as to something else I could do with the stars from all you talented people out there. It has been sooo hot here that I have been indoors doing very little, due to the fact of my hernia issued and ulcer. I'm going to get another EDG on Monday to see if the ulcer is cleared up , then I can have the hernia surgery. I'm not supposed to life, push, bend etc. so I'm able to do some sewing. I just want to get this taken care of. I'm sick of depending on my husband doing things for me. He gets home from work and then I have a list of things I need him to do. I feel so bad. One good thing I can do is lay on a raft in my pool. Yeah... My sister comes and joins me sometimes. Lest I digress, about the stars, do you think I should tack them together for a table topper or do you have another idea. Any suggestions would be welcome. Then I want to make my Christmas quilt I started last year. Then I found a beautiful pink and green quilt I would like to make after the Christmas one. I'm getting more excited about quilting even though it seems like a daunting task to me still. I just have to dive in and do it. Maybe , my BFF Susie from Homespun Quilts will get together with me to work. I seem to get a lot more done when we do it together. It's so fun and we get to talk. Thanks for you suggestions. It is greatly appreciated.

A few ideas: Use them as ornaments and add a ribbon as a hanger, make a banner out of them sort of like a garland I guess. Or sew them down onto a background fabric and add a border for a tablerunner. Hope that helps!
Those stars are adorable Tracey. My suggestions were going to be the same as Neabear (except that I hadn't thought of the ornaments.) I've seen so many cute garlands in blogland -- they'd make a cute garland by tacking them together in a row or grounding them to a long ribbon. Or, just like Neabear said, I'd thought to put them on a background little quilt to make a table topper. Hope you're feeling better soon and can get that hernia taken care of!
I think I would applique them to some background fabric, with a border of some kind. Or you could also applique them to a background fabric and frame it.
Thanks
:)
The original idea still seems like a good one, however I agree it doesn't look quite right. Perhaps it is because there is too much white. If there were more dark blue? The balance of colors just needs some tweeking,
